Fundraising for All Weather Multi – Sports Facility at Naas CBS

19 February 2024

Dear Parents/Guardians,

After many years of planning and a lot of work behind the scenes we are on the final stretch in realising the dream of having our own all-weather multi-sport facility.

The facility will be a great asset to the school, the local community and will give students a greater level of physical education and increase the range of sport and fitness options the school can offer regardless of the weather conditions.

The estimated cost of the development is €1.2m (April 2023) and finance has been sought from a number of sources — grants, the school authority and a partnership arrangement.

However, this leaves a shortfall of €350k which we hope to be able to raise from parents, past pupils and the business community. We are inviting you to help us raise this significant sum.

In order to raise these funds we have the following options:

 Four Sponsorship/Advertising options for businesses that will suit budgets of varying

sizes.

 Donation Option: Go Fund Me page for the wider community.

 School App: For Parents/Guardians with son/s attending CBS Naas at present.

(Voluntary Contribution to All-Weather Multi-Sport Facility fund)

We thank the parents/guardians who contributed to the school already this year and we wish it wasn’t necessary to ask again for a further contribution towards the new pitch. But this is a unique situation and will be hugely beneficial to our students. We really would like to get this facility built as soon as possible and with as little disruption to PE classes/training as possible so therefore time is of the essence. We are trying to get all funds in place before starting the project. The Contribution we are asking for is €50 per student or what you feel you are in a position to contribute. To make a contribution Go to App – select shop – school payment – All Weather Multi-Sport Facility and enter the amount you wish to contribute.

We understand that it could be a difficult time for some people and would like to point out that all contributions are voluntary and no one is under any obligation to contribute. Although we are asking you the parents/guardians to contribute we would also hope that you could ask your employers and family, if they would be interested in contributing or purchasing advertising. All contributions over €250 will be tax deductible as per the Charities Donation Scheme.

These donations can be made to our GoFundMe page “Help Built All-Weather Sports Facility at Naas CBS” (https://gofund.me/075a790f) If interested in purchasing advertising please email: naascbspitchfund@gmail.com

Expected timeframe of project: Start Summer’24 – Completion Jan’25.

Many thanks to all our Parents/Guardians for your wonderful support over the years and to our fundraising committee for their dedication and commitment. I really feel this facility is the final piece in consolidating Naas CBS as a school of excellence.
