2nd Year Science Trip to The Explorium
The Science Department is delighted to offer the opportunity for 2nd Years to visit our National Sport & Science Centre, The Explorium, in Sandyford on Thursday 23rd October.
The cost for the day is €35, which includes entry and bus. ( Please see payment request in the app )
The Explorium has hundreds of interactive sports and science exhibits that bring the curriculum to life. The 2nd Years can try out the sport science challenges: see how fast they can run, cycle, kick a ball and react. They can feel forces while lying on a bed of nails, cycling an anti-gravity bike, driving the race car simulator and trying to balance in the anti-gravity room. They can make a pledge in the COOL IT climate experience, and engage with the different smells, sights and sounds of living things.
The bus will leave school at 9am (this time will be strictly adhered to due to high traffic volumes at this time), returning by 4pm. Students will be in full uniform, and should bring their own lunch – the food options can be expensive, and the boys will be hungry from all the activities.
