Community Cycle for Bike Week 2024
Ms Cowper and a group of Naas CBS students went on a community cycle to Sallins organised by Paul MacDonald of The Active Travel Section of Kildare County Council. The route took them via the canal and it was a very pleasant cycle. They stopped off at The Grand Canal Greenway Bike Hire establishment for some refreshments before making the return journey to Naas CBS.
There they met Ger Loughlin, a past pupil of Naas CBS, (see photograph with current student Conaill Holahan). Ms Cowper had a nice chat with Ger Loughlin about his school days at Naas CBS and he also spoke of the new Greenway route that goes from Sallins all the way to Dublin. Ms Cowper plans to cycle to Dublin with her family over the summer and maybe some of the students who went on the community cycle might consider doing the same. We are all very lucky to have a Greenway right on our doorstep.
