International Book Day 2025
Today is World Book Day! Reading is an essential part of school life, however, reading for pleasure is just as important. To quote Dr Seuss “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go”.
Reading has great benefits; it can reduce stress, aid relaxation, expand vocabulary, strengthen writing skills and increase imagination/creativity.
Please find attached a list of recommended reads for different year groups. From the icy depths of Narnia to the glamour of the 1920’s East and West Egg in Gatsby. There is a book on this list for everyone!
Thanks to the English Department for their work in celebrating International Book Day 2025 in the school today.
Ms Dalton’s 1st Year English class presented their favourite book and created posters in class today. It was a great class and the students learnt about different book genres.
A special thanks to Lee Higgins 2nd Year for taking the photos.
