Senior Art Trip
On Tuesday 11th November 5th and 6th year art students enjoyed an art appreciation trip to Dublin. They visited the National Gallery and the National Museum, Kildare Street. Students were privileged to get a tour of an exhibition of the work of world renowned artist Pablo Picasso at the Gallery. The exhibition entitled ‘Picasso: from the studio’ consisted of a wide variety of work from the hugely prolific artist including paintings, prints, ceramic works and sculpture. Students enjoyed the experience of seeing the work of such a famous artist up close and learning more about him in the process.
At the National Museum students got to view many artefacts from Pre-Christian Irish times that they have studied and this will no doubt benefit them in their understanding of that chapter in Irish cultural history.
