TY Trip to BOI
On Monday, a group of TY students visited the Bank of Ireland Head Office in Dublin to learn about the role of accountants in business and to gain insight into the ACCA professional accounting qualification.
As part of the visit, the students took part in a Dragon’s Den–style competition. Working in teams, they designed a product to be sold at a music festival and developed a business plan outlining how the product would be marketed and sold. Each team then presented their plan to a panel of judges from Bank of Ireland.
Congratulations to Team “Shoedom”, who won the award for Best Pitch and received a small prize for their excellent presentation.
Bank of Ireland staff were very complimentary about the students, noting that this was one of the strongest groups they had hosted. They commented in particular on the high standard of the business plans, presentations, and the quality of questions asked throughout the day.
Well done to all the students who represented the school so positively on the day.
