3rd Year Trip to Dublin Zoo – A Fantastic Day of Learning and Fun

9 April 2025

All 3rd year students enjoyed a very successful and enjoyable trip to Dublin Zoo as part of their ecology field study. The day was filled with learning, discovery, and excitement as students explored the Zoo’s habitats and biodiversity as part of their Junior Cycle science programme.

As well as completing their field study, students took part in an engaging and informative conservation workshop. Here, they learned about the importance of protecting endangered species and the role zoos play in global conservation efforts. It was a fantastic opportunity to see classroom learning brought to life in a real-world setting.

A huge thank you goes to all the teachers who helped organise and supervise the day, as well as to Paul, our SNA, for his constant support and positivity throughout the trip.

The students are to be highly commended on their exemplary behaviour. They represented the school with pride, showing great courtesy and respect throughout the day. Staff at Dublin Zoo were full of praise for the group, noting how polite and well-mannered the students were during the visit.

Well done to all involved on making it such a memorable and successful outing!
