Debating Awards Ceremony
Last week we celebrated our English and Irish debaters at our annual awards ceremony. There is a strong tradition of debating at Naas CBS, and this year was no different. The English debate team competed in the Concern Debate competition as well as the Model United Nations in Naas Community College, while the Irish debate team competed in Comórtas Uí Phiarsaigh, run by Gael Linn.
The most improved speaker for English went to Gavin McNamee and the most improved speaker for Irish went to Aidan McGrane.
The award for Speaker of the Year is in memory of Cormac Clare. This year’s recipient was Patrick Cleary who was a member of both teams.
Well done to all the students involved for their commitment and contribution to debating in the school.
