Sports Awards 2026
We had a lovely evening last week in the school to celebrate some of our sporting achievements this year.
Well done to the junior rugby team who received their medals on the night. The team won the 1C junior division league against St Pats Navan in March. It was an amazing afternoon with the boys reflecting on their journey to being champions. Special mention to Conor Brophy who coaches the team, we thank him for all his skills and the expertise he brings to school rugby. Many thanks also to Mr Warren for his work and commitment.
Well done also to the Naas CBS badminton teams who have enjoyed great success, with all of our U/14, U/16 and U/19 teams qualifying out of Kildare. A special congratulations goes to our U/19 Division Team, who captured the Leinster title for the second year in a row — a fantastic achievement for the team. While they were unfortunate to narrowly miss out on an All-Ireland medal, the future remains very bright. Samuel Nuzum, Diarmuid Tully, Cian Lawlor and Lochlann O’Rourke will hopefully be strong contenders for All-Ireland honours again next year. A big thank you to Ms Smith for the huge support she gave the lads this year.
Finally well done to the 1st year soccer team who have completed a fantastic season. This year the first year soccer team won the division one Midlands League, came runner up in the Leinster Champions League and won the Leinster Shield competition. Students received their medals at our awards ceremony. Special thanks to parents Cheryl Loughnane of the Honey Pot Beauty Salon, Kill and to Ian Nolan of Easytrip for contributing so generously to the First Year soccer team’s new zip top for the Leinster Shield final. We wish the team continued success going forward. Thank you to Ms Kilcoyne and Mr O’Neill for all their work with the lads during the year.
