Junior Footballers Play New York Minors in a Challenge Match to Finish the Season
Our Junior Footballers played the New York Minors in a challenge match last Thursday in Maynooth University in preparation for their Connacht Minor campaign. Both teams played an excellent game with high level of skill shown from both sides! Best wishes to New York for the remainder of their games. The lads were hugely grateful for a unique and memorable game.
Our Junior Football Team would like to extend a huge thank you to our generous sponsors for the year: Karolynn MacHale from Aria Boutique, Colin Feely from BDO and Declan Troy from Arachas who supplied the training gear for the team.
The Junior Team enjoyed a strong and competitive season, beginning their championship campaign with an impressive away win against Scoil Mhuire Clane, where their determination and teamwork proved decisive. They followed this up with another excellent performance at home to Enniscorthy CBS, in a high-quality and hard-fought contest that showcased great skill, scoring ability, and physicality, with Naas again emerging victorious.
Finishing top of their group, Naas earned a home South Leinster Semi-Final against Knockbeg College. However, due to poor weather conditions, the match was moved to the SETU Carlow 4G pitch. In a closely contested game where momentum swung back and forth, Naas battled bravely but were ultimately edged out by Knockbeg, who went on to win the South Leinster Final.
The lads performed excellently all year and have a lot to be proud of, with many now stepping up to the challenge of Senior Football.
Mr. Hughes
