T.Y. Conservation Volunteering Trip to Kenya
At the end of March, 27 CBS students with 3 teachers travelled to Soysambu Conservancy in Kenya for a 10 day Conservation Volunteering trip. The trip was a culmination of months of fundraising activities by students, parents and the school.
While in Kenya, the students worked on some really worthwhile projects. They installed eco stoves in a rural community, tracked and monitored endangered giraffe species, planted trees and removed invasive plant life from the conservancy. In addition to this hard work, they also went on some spectacular hikes and safari drives and visited an elephant orphanage and giraffe centre.
Due to the success of this trip, we are hosting an information evening for parents of incoming Transition Years (current 3rd years). This meeting is to gauge the interest among parents and students for a similar trip for 2027. The meeting will take place on Thursday 14th of May at 7pm sharp in the assembly hall in the school.
If you have any questions about this meeting please email jsn@naascbs.ie.
